Voices of Hope are a New Zealand based mental health foundation with a mission to implement positive change through sharing lived experiences.
Produced by SUPERNORMAL Directed by FERNANDO HART
Someday Studios have been working with Voices of Hope to take their presence to the next level, so that their mission around mental health has the foundations to reach every home in New Zealand.
Whether their age 5 or 50, New Zealanders look up to professional athletes as heroes. But behind every jersey, there’s a story.
The Behind the Jersey campaign presents a series of impactful, real, and emotive interviews with a range of New Zealand athletes that highlight the need for better understanding that behind their jerseys our sports athletes are real people too.
The campaign showcases 17 NZ athletes who have never shared their story before and reveals the personal challenges they face on and off the sports field, in three 60-second videos. Four widely recognised athletes, Niall Williams, Symone Tafuna’i, Tai Wynyard and Izzy Dagg, then feature in in-depth 40-minute interviews telling their full story which were hosted on TVNZ +, Three Now, YouTube and remain a resource for individuals and groups looking for insights and support.
This integrated campaign went live throughout the country during Mental Health Awareness week, and was picked up by Breakfast, Seven Sharp, New Zealand Herald, Stuff and a range of radio broadcast. We also pitched to networks and media companies to play the 60” videos and display advertising through TVNZ+, ThreeNow and OOH throughout New Zealand.
Someday Studios continues to work with Voices of Hope to bring new campaign concepts.
